Herbal Quackery Presentation

Resident Guidelines

The West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Healthcare Center has given preliminary approval for funding of some additional textbook purchases. We await final approval, and ordering.

2001 - Grant Requests have been sent out widely, and a preliminary list of texts has been assembled. Paperwork for incorporation as a California charitable corporation is being prepared.

December 2001 - Major textbooks arrive, funded by the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Healthcare Center

February 2002 - Additional textbooks arrive. Grant requests have been sent.

June 2002 - Volumes 1 - 280 of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research were donated by Dr. William J. Mullally , and are now available.

July 2002 - New textbook order approved, pending.

September 2002 - Textbook order delayed by Veterans Administration. 

September 2002 - New donations: Evidence-Based Herbal Medicine  by Michael Rotblatt and Irwin Ziment, 2002 donated by Dr. Michael Rotblatt, Orthofix External Fixation in Trauma and Orthopaedics by Giovanni De Bastiani et al., 2001, donated by Orthofix

December 2002 New texts arrive, funded by the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Healthcare Center

January 2003 - be on the look out for missing book - Surgical Exposures in Orthopedics Stanley Hoppenfeld 1994

April 2003 - comments on the book Evidence-Based Herbal Medicine  by Michael Rotblatt and Irwin Ziment now posted.

May 2003 - New texts added, 7 volumes of the Orthopaedic Knowledge Update specialty series funded be the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Healthcare Center. The library now has 27 texts available for study around the clock.

Coming Soon - The library will soon move to the office in the orthopaedic surgery clinic once the keypad lock has been installed to allow around the clock access.

This year the Orthopaedic Learning Center is planning to incorporate as a California Nonprofit Corporation, we will need to recruit an advisory panel and corporate officers.
