Medical Library. On the sixth floor. After hours access via numeric keypad, enter numeric keypad code 3521.

Orthopaedic Library. There is an orthopaedic library in the Orthopaedic Surgery Clinic Office, Room 0400 (back door) [code 1352]. This is the beginning of the Orthopaedic Learning Center. We are planning an orthopaedic department library that will have basic gold-standard orthopaedic texts and journals. Please share your suggestions for content.  Link to list of currently available materials.

Wednesday Conferences.

On the 1st Wednesday of each month there will be a UCLA Grand Rounds conference following the core lectures. The 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month there is a clinical case conference. The residents are expected to discuss and examine patients. As you see patients in the clinics that may benefit from being presented you should help arrange for their presentation. The 3rd Wednesday of each month is an MRI conference. As you see patients whose imaging studies would be of interest keep track of them so Dr. Masih can be notified of the studies of interest, and be prepared to teach us. Please give her the names and numbers of the patients in advance so she can be prepared to show us the images. If possible bring arthroscopy photos for review. The final Wednesday conference of each two-month block should include a morbidity and mortality session. Patients who do especially well should also be presented.

Web resources at the VA. From the Intranet home page, at vhawlaweb1, go to the "Resources" tab and select "Databases". If you access MD Consult, there are full text, limited image, versions of Campbell's Operative Orthopaedics, and Rockwood & Green Fractures in Adults, as well as a good literature search function. One can also access Harrison's online; Pub Med, other search engines, and Up To Date online from that menu.
